What Not To Miss at Stockholm Design Week 2020!Wednesday 5 February 2020
February is kicking off with a varied set of events throughout the Globe. One of those events is the Stockholm Design Week, which, along with the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, are the pillars of Scandinavian design. CovetED will be showing you what you can expect from this unique set of events which seek to promote and elevate the best of Scandinavia’s design talents.
In essence, Stockholm Design Week always takes place in a variety of venues across the city. Several galleries, museums, cultural institutions and showrooms will be hosting a unique set of dinner parties, opening cocktails, and more. This will not only dynamize the city but also allow many interested people to learn about many of the arts practised by the craftsmen and businesses around the city. During this week you can count with a choice of over 400 design events throughout the area.
The main highlight, however, is Stockholm’s annual Furniture & Light Fair 2020, a showcase that will exhibit the latest trends and innovative new products in design. It’s currently the largest event in Scandinavia when it comes to annual furniture and lighting exhibition events.
The fair is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, and right now many top players in the lighting and furniture market such as Fredericia, Seletti, Carl Hansen, Kvadrat, Artek, Iittala, Secto, & Tradition, Pholc (lighting), and others are present at the main event. Other modern themes such as feminism and fantasy are also a big part of many showcases you can experience.
All in all, this year’s Stockholm Design Week is currently one of the leading design events in Europe that turn Stockholm in the Interior Design Capital in Europe for this period. Make sure you don’t miss the event which aims to elevate both Nordic and Global design in one main incredible experience.
