‘AI’ presentation at Salone del Mobile 2019

Today is the opening day of Salone del Mobile 2019 and Kartell had a little surprised hidden under their sleeve. At 9:30 am today, the brand revealed its newest project conceived alongside the famous designer Philippe Starck and the company Artificial Intelligence.

‘AI’ is the first chair created by artificial intelligence

‘AI” is the name of the product launched today and consists of a dining chair designed in a nude hue by the acclaimed designer Philippe Starck. The presentation took place at Kartell’s booth and lasted around 30 minutes where Philippe Starck accompanied by Claudio Lutti (Kartell’s CEO) presented this special dining chair while also explaining the concept behind it.

Philipe Starck co-designed this chair and ‘Artificial Intelligence’ by AutoDesk was responsible for bringing the idea to life. It took them 2 years to develop this dining chair and the idea behind it is to surpass the human mind by speeding up the design process of an item.

We wouldn’t expect any less from Kartell, a brand that has never missed an edition of this design fair and that always aims to bring innovation to everything that it does.

Kartell has managed to retain a long time legacy in furniture design having many names collaborate in the conception of many pieces, such as Ron Arad, Antonio Citterio, Ferruccio Laviani, Piero Lissoni, Patricia Urquiola, Mario Bellini, Alberto Meda, and Vico Magistretti.
